USA embassy and Beokocka have joined efforts to make a new project: "Building connections"
In connections with 100 years of diplomatic relations between United States of America and Republic of Serbia, we are building a giant mosaic made out of LEGO bricks by children from mixed ethnic groups, age from 10 to 14 years old. We gave preference to children with special needs and children from vulnerable socio-economic conditions, and we encouraged children from different ethnic groups, including migrant children, to apply for program. Mosaic is representation of the 1915 poster "Save Serbia" by Steinlen
During the process of making the mosaic children are learning thought building together about importance of cooperation, toleration and team effort. During building with bricks with interlocking mechanism children are also developing:
Teamwork and communication
Patience and organizational skills
Constructive problem solving and lateral thinking
Adventure and experimentation
Fine motor skills development
Increases spatial awareness
Better focus and concentration
We will crown our cooperation with fantastic program, few creations on the 4th July celebration in Residency of USA Embassy
